With difficulty levels from easy to expert, hiking trails in the Ohio & Erie Canalway will give you the chance to explore our history, our geology and our culture in a very personal way. You will experience the majestic beauty of the Canalway, with its waterfalls, unique and diverse landscapes, wildlife, and historical features.

A portion of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail has been named one of the 10 top family trails in the country by the American Hiking Association. There are also opportunities to hike the Canalway off the Towpath Trail. There are numerous connector trails from area parks and neighborhoods, as well as history hikes in the historic neighborhoods of the Ohio & Erie Canalway.
