(1000 Truxell Rd., about 2.5 miles southeast of the Lock 29 Trailhead in Peninsula and a short hop over from the America’s Byway, which runs along Riverview Road in Peninsula).

Open weekends when there’s at least four inches of snow, they can provide you with rented cross country skis and poles or a pair of snowshoes. The winter scenery is beautiful and there’s cross country trails for all abilities.

When you’re ready for some rest and refreshment, head over to Sarah’s Vineyard a few miles away in Cuyahoga Falls (1204 W. Steels Corners Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, 44223). Warm up with a glass of locally produced wine. The menu features fresh sandwiches, salads, cheese platters and the food is always good in a casual atmosphere.

Visitor’s Tip: The Sarah’s Secret is an excellent red!
