• August 18, 2025: Lights are out at several locations along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

• Oct. 16, 2025: The Towpath Trail is closed in the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation under the CSX Railroad. Detour: Coming south: Turn left where closure is onto bridge to go over the canal. Take APT up the hill behind the Canalway Visitor Center, turn left onto Whittlesey Way. Take Whittlesey Way to E. 49th and turn right. Take E. 49th to entrance to enter back onto the Towpath. Coming North: Turn right off of the Towpath at closure and go up the hill and turn left onto E. 49th. Turn left from E. 49th onto Whittlesey Way. Take Whittlesey Way down to the Canalway Visitor Center and enter onto APT behind Canalway. Take APT onto the bridge over the canal and turn right back onto the Towpath Trail heading north.

• December 8, 2025: Contractors will be completing sewer utility work on the Towpath Trail between W. North Street and Beech Street for about two weeks. Trail traffic will be maintained, however there may be some congested areas with workers and equipment.

• December 15, 2025: Please be aware that hunting may be permitted on property close to the Towpath Trail. Trails remain open during hunting season. Please wear bright clothing while hiking, biking or horseback riding.
